Strong winds and power outages disrupted classes for several Cape Breton schools on Wednesday. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) reported multiple transportation and scheduling changes due to unsafe weather conditions.
The CSAP-operated Beau-Port School remained closed for the day due to a continuing power outage in the area.
At NDA School, morning bus service was cancelled, but classes stayed open for students who could arrange other transportation. School administrators indicated they would update families later to confirm if afternoon transport would proceed.
The NSCC Strait Area Campus cancelled all classes because of an overnight outage, with crews estimating power restoration by 2:00 p.m.
The Wagmatcook Learning Centre continued its regular schedule despite the weather disruptions.
