Late Goal Gives Romania 1-0 Victory Over Austria
Romania defeated Austria 1-0 on Sunday, October 12, at Bucharest’s National Arena in a Group H World Cup qualifier match.
The decisive goal came in stoppage time, keeping Romania’s qualification hopes alive as they moved up to third place in the group with 10 points.
Coached by Mircea Lucescu, Romania started confidently, creating early chances. In the seventh minute, Dennis Man set up Valentin Mihăilă, whose acrobatic volley went just wide.
