The Sacramento Kings are considering signing free agent center Precious Achiuwa, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.
The Kings face a significant size disadvantage, and general manager Scott Perry is reportedly working to address this issue. Achiuwa, a 26-year-old veteran big man, last played for the New York Knicks in the 2024-25 season. Known for his strong rebounding over five years in the league, he fits the Kings' current needs.

As of Monday, Sacramento ranks last in the NBA in rebounds per game, averaging just 37.5. This struggle is intensified by the absence of starting forward Keegan Murray, who is recovering from wrist surgery.
If the Kings sign Achiuwa, they will need to make a roster move since they currently have 15 players on standard contracts. Russell Westbrook’s contract for the season is not fully guaranteed, but he has performed well. Other players who might be waived include second-year forward Issac Jones (on a non-guaranteed deal), forward Dario Saric, and wing Doug McDermott.
These adjustments would allow the Kings to add Achiuwa to bolster their frontcourt.
The Kings aim to improve their rebounding woes by targeting veteran center Precious Achiuwa, potentially making key roster changes to fit him into the lineup.
