A viral video claims to show the NEOM Stadium—the planned venue for the Saudi Arabian megaproject—perched atop a skyscraper. However, these images were created using AI by an online user and do not represent the official stadium design.
The striking stadium visuals have been widely shared across social media since late October. Users suggest the stadium is part of The Line, a futuristic city within the NEOM development. The same image was posted on October 26 by Rwandan user Edwin Musoni on X, quickly gaining 3.5 million views.
"The clip features a football stadium seemingly perched atop a skyscraper within a futuristic city. Musoni claimed the venue will be situated 1,150 feet (350 metres) above ground level."
Although a stadium is planned for The Line, the circulated images were AI-generated and do not depict the official project. An examination of NEOM’s verified accounts on X and Instagram revealed no signs of this video or such a suspended stadium design.
However, an official post from last December shows the NEOM Stadium, which is planned to be built 350 metres above ground, but not suspended on a skyscraper.
The viral images of a stadium atop a skyscraper in NEOM are AI fakes and do not represent the actual official project designs.
