Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce have officially joined the cast of The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event. They will portray the wives of the Fab Four during the peak of the band's fame in the 1960s.
Each of these women married one of the Beatles, capturing personal viewpoints as the band rose from Liverpool unknowns to international superstars before their 1970 breakup.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” said director Sam Mendes.
The four films will focus separately on each Beatle’s story:
This project marks the first time the band and their heirs have granted music and life rights to a theatrical feature about them. Linda (née Eastman) met Paul McCartney in 1967 while working as a photographer.
This ambitious cinematic exploration offers a fresh perspective on the Beatles’ legacy through the eyes of their wives and their personal journeys amid the band's extraordinary rise.
