Adelaide Metro offers free bus rides during Christmas Pageant

Adelaide Metro offers free travel for Christmas Pageant

Adelaide Metro will provide free rides on buses, trains, and trams this Saturday, November 8, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., for families attending the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant. The initiative aims to make it easier for South Australians to take part in the state’s most cherished festive event.

This year marks the return of the free travel program, which previously drew over 300,000 participants to the southern hemisphere’s largest public street parade. To manage the crowds, additional bus and train services will run throughout the morning. Substitute buses will also operate along the Glenelg tram line during ongoing maintenance work.

“Adelaide Metro is so pleased to provide free public transport to help children and families get to the city for the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant,” said spokesperson Michelle Spagnoletti. “We’ll have additional services running on the day, so hop on board and leave the car at home.”

Several road closures and temporary bus stop adjustments will be introduced across Adelaide’s CBD to ensure safety during the event.
