Seven neighbours from a street in Brookmans Park are celebrating after their postcode, AL9 6PT, won the People’s Postcode Lottery’s weekly “Millionaire Street” prize worth £1 million.
Two households, each holding three tickets, received £249,999; one household with two tickets won £166,666; and four others holding one ticket each earned £83,333.
Among the winners is 52-year-old Steven Bean, who, together with his wife Olesya, plans to donate part of their winnings to a charity supporting adults with learning difficulties.
“The first thing I’m going to do is give some money to a charity who had a bus stolen and burned.”
Steven referred to Camphill Milton Keynes, a community organization whose only minibus was stolen and later found burned on October 9. Although insured, the charity said the payout would not cover the full cost of replacement.
“Hopefully other people will give them a few quid too.”
Camphill’s head of development, Lucy Davies, expressed gratitude, noting how upsetting the incident had been for residents with learning difficulties.
“It has been a very difficult time for our residents who have found this situation very confusing and upsetting.”
Camphill Milton Keynes provides care, housing, and meaningful work opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, fostering independence and community engagement.
