Riley Keough's mother, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away on January 12, 2023. Since then, Keough has co-written her memoir and believes she has received signs of her mother’s approval.
As the third anniversary of Lisa Marie's passing approaches, Riley Keough continues to feel a mysterious connection to her mother. Despite Lisa Marie no longer being physically present, Riley experiences moments that feel unexplainable, especially after completing their collaborative memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown.
Speaking at the Academy x Chanel Women’s Luncheon on November 4, 2025, Riley told PEOPLE magazine that she feels signs from her mother supporting the memoir. She said,
“I think if you're open to those things, they're kind of everywhere.”
Riley finished the memoir in 2023 following her mother’s death and shared,
“So, I certainly feel connected to whatever that world may be. I do feel connected to it, yeah. There are certainly moments that are very... too weird to not be something.”
While she did not reveal specific experiences, Riley mentioned these will be discussed in the afterword of the paperback edition of the book, releasing on November 11, 2025.
This is not Riley’s first encounter with the supernatural, a sensitivity she seems to have inherited from her mother. Lisa Marie, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, was just nine years old when Elvis passed away. Before his death, Lisa Marie reportedly sensed what was coming.
Riley’s experiences hint at a continuing bond between mother and daughter that transcends the physical world.
Author’s summary: Riley Keough senses unexplainable signs from her late mother Lisa Marie Presley, deepening their connection as she honors her memory through their shared memoir.
