The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, California, has issued a dense fog advisory effective until 9 a.m. Saturday. The alert covers multiple regions including San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Inland Central Coast, Santa Barbara County Central and Inland Coasts, Santa Ynez Valley, the southwestern and southeastern Santa Barbara County Coasts, as well as the Ventura County Beaches, Inland Coast, and Malibu Coast.
"Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog."
"Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous," explains the NWS. "If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you."
The advisory emphasizes extreme caution on the roads. Dense fog can severely reduce visibility, making travel difficult and potentially dangerous. The National Weather Service advises avoiding travel whenever possible during fog events.
