Season 2 of Maxton Hall began turbulently when James cheated on Ruby just days after they finally got together.
During the November 6 premiere, James (Damian Hardung) learned of his mother's death and immediately rushed to Ruby’s (Harriet Herbig-Matten) house. After seeing how happy Ruby was with her family, he left before she noticed his visit.
Following this, James went on a drunken binge, unknown to Ruby initially. Concerned, Ruby joined James's sister Lydia (Sonja Weißer) to find him. They tracked James to a house party where he was drinking and dancing with other women.
Once he saw Ruby, James went into the pool where a random girl joined him — and they kissed in front of his girlfriend.
Season 2, which airs weekly episodes, adapts the second part of Mona Kasten's Save You novel. The story picks up after James and Ruby’s "passionate night together in Oxford," when Ruby seems poised to achieve her biggest life goal.
However, a tragic event in James's family drastically changes their situation. James, unexpectedly, brings Ruby down from her happiness to a harsh reality.
"She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James — and never before has anyone hurt her so deeply."
Ruby’s deep emotions and the painful betrayal mark a dramatic shift in their relationship.
Author's summary: The premiere of Maxton Hall season 2 reveals a heartbreaking turn as James’s betrayal shatters Ruby’s trust and tests their fragile relationship.
