Cochrane could become the new location for the 2026 Ironman 70.3 Calgary triathlon if town council gives approval. The event organizers, Platinum Racing Events, have suggested relocating after Harmony Park became unavailable due to construction.
The two-day triathlon is set for July 25–26, 2026, with event setup starting on July 24. This will be the 17th edition of the Ironman 70.3 Calgary.
The race typically attracts around 1,100 athletes from as many as 26 countries, along with over 500 spectators and 300 volunteers, according to organizers. Approximately 40% of competitors travel more than 300 kilometres to join. Last year’s race featured athletes from 16 countries.
A relay option for two or three participants is also offered.
The main race day is July 26.
The Historic Cochrane Ranche is proposed as the central hub for the event.
