The New Jersey Devils (9-3-1) host the Montreal Canadiens at Prudential Center to start a three-game homestand. The winner of tonight’s game will be the first team in the league to reach 10 wins this season.
NEWARK, NJ – The Devils took to the ice for their morning skate ahead of the Thursday night game against Montreal. Center Cody Glass participated fully in line rushes and is set to return after missing seven games due to an upper-body injury.
"It was a weird injury to have, it popped out of nowhere," Glass said. "I'm happy to be back with the guys."
Glass confirmed he is fully healthy and expects no limitations. "I'm just trying to jump right into it, get hit, see how it goes. It's hockey."
Forward Connor Brown, who practiced the day before but missed the last two games, was not on the ice during this skate.
With Glass back, the Devils will reassemble the lines responsible for their recent eight-game winning streak. Glass will resume his role as third center, allowing Mercer to move to the wing alongside Nico Hischier and Timo Meier.
This shift reduces defensive pressure on rookie Arseny Gritsyuk, who will move down to the third line.
Author's summary: Cody Glass returns to the Devils’ lineup, enabling key line adjustments as New Jersey aims for its 10th win against the Canadiens.
