Keeley Hawes on 21 Years of Marriage with Matthew Macfadyen
She may play a contract killer on television and dazzle in high fashion on red carpets, but as Keeley Hawes tells You Magazine, her everyday life is far more grounded—and so are her small indulgences.
Speaking to journalist Maddy Fletcher, Hawes revealed an unexpected detail about the Met Gala.
"The thing that might surprise you about the Met Gala," says Keeley Hawes, "is how promptly it ends. Everyone's gone!"
According to Hawes, most guests rush to change into new glamorous outfits for the many afterparties that follow. Yet she and her husband, actor Matthew Macfadyen, skipped all of that when they attended the event last year.
"We were so stunned and tired. We went straight back to our hotel and talked about everything we'd seen. I was quite into Naked and Afraid at the time, so we watched a bit of that to calm down."
Naked and Afraid is a survival reality show where two strangers, without clothes or comforts, must endure life in the wild for 21 days. For Hawes, it provided a surprisingly soothing end to an extravagant evening.
As the acclaimed actress described her evening, she appeared in a photo wearing an embroidered tulle dress and slingback shoes by Dior.
