In a rain-affected Pool C match of the Hong Kong Sixes, former India cricketers Robin Uthappa and Bharat Chipli delivered fiery performances to help India edge past Pakistan by two runs using the DLS Method.
Uthappa hammered a quick 28 runs off 11 balls, while Chipli contributed 24 runs from 13 balls, enabling India to post 86/4 in their allotted six overs.
Pakistan started their chase well, scoring 41/1 after three overs before heavy rain stopped play. When the match ended, the DLS calculation showed Pakistan fell two runs short of the target.
“Stuart Binny’s economical spell, where he conceded only seven runs and took a wicket, proved decisive.”
Australia comfortably chased down 88 runs in just three overs, winning by 10 wickets. Jack Wood led with a blistering 55 runs off 11 balls, supported by an unbeaten 26 runs from Nick Hobson (5 balls).
Afghanistan recorded a 49-run victory over South Africa, marking their second win of the tournament. Captain Gulbadin Naib scored a rapid 50 runs from 12 balls, while Karim Janat added an explosive 46 runs off 11 balls. Afghanistan finished with 148/2 in six overs.
South Africa responded with 99/2, falling significantly short of the target.
