Elizabeth Olsen has always valued the enthusiasm of Marvel fans, but she recently discovered a new level of connection with them through her growing devotion to the Los Angeles Dodgers. As she explained, becoming a superfan of the baseball team helped her better relate to the passion of those who follow the Marvel universe.
Promoting her upcoming film "Eternity," co-starring Callum Turner and Miles Teller, Olsen appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday night. She arrived in full Dodgers gear to celebrate the team’s second consecutive World Series championship. The actress admitted feeling “overwhelmed,” as the Dodgers team also appeared on the same episode, giving her the chance to meet them in person.
During the interview, Olsen shared that her enthusiasm for the Dodgers had grown only in recent years, and that fans now bring her Dodger-themed gifts at comic conventions — from a Scarlet Witch headpiece in team colors to a homemade Kike Hernandez t-shirt. She reflected on how this experience has shifted her perspective on fandom.
“In some ways, it’s been interesting because there are Marvel fans, and so I’m on the other end of that, right?” Olsen said. “And it wasn’t really until I started doubling down every year on the Dodgers for the last eight years — because it’s kind of a new thing, it wasn’t my whole childhood — that I started to realize how much I am a fan of it.”
Host Jimmy Kimmel responded with humor, clarifying that Olsen now understands what Marvel fans “were all screaming about” — driven by excitement and affection, not fanaticism.
Elizabeth Olsen revealed that her growing love for the Dodgers allowed her to finally understand the deep passion and devotion Marvel fans show toward her and her work.
