‘Trailer Park Boys’ Star Mike Smith Charged with Sexual Assault

Canadian actor Mike Smith, 53, known for portraying Bubbles in the long-running cult mockumentary “Trailer Park Boys,” has been charged with sexual assault. The reported incident allegedly occurred in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in December.

According to court filings, Smith was formally charged in Nova Scotia Provincial Court in October. The documents did not disclose further details of the case. The actor has been ordered not to contact or visit the alleged victim’s home, workplace, or school.

“We are aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith dating back to 2017 and take such matters seriously,” Trailer Park Boys Inc. said. “We recognize how difficult an allegation of this nature is for all involved. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case.”

Following the charges, Smith stepped back from his position as managing director of Trailer Park Boys Inc. He has been part of the show’s central trio alongside Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay since its debut in 2001, and he acquired the franchise rights in 2013.

The show’s 13th season completed production in August and is slated to premiere in 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of the series.
