Paul Rodgers, the original member of the English rock supergroup Bad Company, announced he will not attend the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony due to health reasons.
He had planned to perform alongside former bandmate and drummer Simon Kirke during the event on Saturday, where Bad Company will be honored as part of the 2025 class.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health,” Rodgers wrote on Bad Company’s Instagram page.
Rodgers did not provide specifics about his health in this latest statement. However, in 2023 he shared with CBS News that he experienced two major strokes in 2016 and 2019, along with 11 minor strokes, which temporarily affected his ability to speak.
“I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else,” Rodgers added.
Simon Kirke and other talented musicians will perform in his place, promising a memorable show.
These artists are scheduled to either perform or present awards during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony.
Paul Rodgers will forgo performing at Bad Company’s Hall of Fame induction to focus on his health, with Simon Kirke and other musicians stepping in to honor the band.
