Days after Simon Kirke announced a reunion with Paul Rodgers for a Bad Company performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, Rodgers has withdrawn from the event, citing health reasons.
Bad Company is scheduled to be inducted alongside Soundgarden, OutKast, The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, and others at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles this Saturday. Fans, however, will not witness the two surviving classic members performing together.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health. I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Simon along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me – guaranteed to rock.”
Although Rodgers will not perform, the band will still have a performance featuring guest singers alongside Simon Kirke and other musicians.
Rodgers previously revealed that he had suffered multiple strokes, which nearly ended his singing career. Nevertheless, his absence from this ceremony is not related to his vocal abilities but to managing stress and health priorities.
The event takes place this Saturday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Paul Rodgers will miss the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction performance due to health concerns, though the band will still play with guest singers.
