Juliette Spencer-Besant, 47, from Havant, was left in disbelief after winning £250,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery. Ironically, she had meant to cancel her ticket subscription but forgot to do so.
Her postcode, PO9 2LD on Lockerley Road in Leigh Park, was drawn as the weekly Millionaire Street prize, awarding three residents a quarter of a million pounds each. Juliette described the moment as completely surreal.
“There was disbelief when I saw the cheque and then a wave of emotion came over me. But I managed to pull it together,”
She explained she had been planning to cancel a few months earlier but never found the time amid her busy schedule.
“I was going to cancel a couple of months back, but I’m really bad at personal stuff… It’s probably the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me. I’ll keep playing now.”
Juliette said she intends to invest wisely but will treat herself first as a small celebration of her unexpected windfall.
A Havant woman accidentally kept her lottery ticket and won £250,000, turning a forgotten task into an extraordinary stroke of fortune.
