David Auburn’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof is now available for ticket purchase. The production stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle, with Samira Wiley and Jin Ha, and will be performed at the Booth Theatre starting March 31, 2026.
The show is directed by Tony winner Thomas Kail and will officially open on April 16, 2026.
Proof follows Catherine (Edebiri), a brilliant but unsettled daughter of Robert (Cheadle), a celebrated mathematics professor. After his death, a notebook containing a groundbreaking mathematical proof is found, triggering questions about who truly authored it. Catherine must navigate the burden of legacy and the struggle to establish her own identity.
Proof debuted off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 2000 before moving to Broadway. The play earned six Tony Award nominations and won three, including Best Play, as well as the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
