Jet2, the UK's largest tour operator, has announced new flights and holidays from London Gatwick Airport, expanding its network to 14 bases nationwide. This marks the first major leisure airline to start operations at Gatwick since 2020.
The fleet of six aircraft based at Gatwick will serve 29 destinations including mainland Spain, Greece, Turkey, Portugal, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Malta, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Cyprus.
The inaugural flight from Gatwick is scheduled for March 26, 2026, departing to Tenerife. This expansion is expected to create over 300 new jobs locally in roles such as cabin crew, flight deck, engineering, and ground operations.
Five of Jet2’s Gatwick planes will be the new Airbus A321neo models, recognized as some of the most fuel-efficient and sustainable aircraft in the industry.
The Airbus A321neo can reduce fuel consumption and emissions per seat by more than 20 percent.
Jet2 already operates from London Stansted, Luton, and several other hubs nationwide, strengthening its presence across the UK.
Summary: Jet2’s Gatwick expansion introduces flights to 29 destinations with a modern, fuel-efficient fleet, bolstering UK leisure travel and creating over 300 local jobs by March 2026.
