Judicial officials applauded the roll-out of the new e-Courts system in Iredell County, according to Iredell Free News.
North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Newby stated that it was a big day for the state, as he joined other officials at the Iredell County Hall of Justice for the official launch.
"This is an exciting, historic day,"
Newby said. Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Joe Crosswhite added,
"We're ready to start doing this."
The e-Courts system modernizes the state's court system, transitioning from paper to digital and cloud-based technologies. Iredell Clerk of Court Jim Mixson noted that the upgrades will provide the public with 24-hour remote access to court records and other applications.
