SAJBD Joins Global Jewish Communities in Prayers for Hostages' Safe Return
The South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD) has expressed its support for Jewish communities worldwide, praying for the safe return of hostages and a lasting peace deal.
The SAJBD welcomes the newly brokered peace deal, led by the USA and Arab Nations, aimed at releasing Israeli hostages and ending the prolonged war.
We especially applaud the courageous world leaders who have chosen the path of dialogue, negotiation and diplomacy over rhetoric and hate.
Their leadership is in stark contrast to those who have exploited this tragedy for political posturing rather than promoting genuine peace.
Since the terror attacks of October 7, 2023, the SAJBD has advocated for a sustainable peace, the immediate release of hostages, and a permanent ceasefire ensuring Israel's security.
The SAJBD is disappointed that the South African government adopted a one-sided stance on the conflict.
