The Writers Guild of America East urged its members not to immediately respond to a memo requested by editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.
The union, which represents a portion of CBS News staffers, wants to gather more information on the purpose of the memo before responding.
“Please be blunt — it will help me greatly,” she wrote, asking staffers to submit a memo outlining their working hours and accomplishments by Tuesday.
Weiss requested the memo to understand what's working, what's broken, and how to improve, after taking over CBS News following Paramount's $150 million acquisition of The Free Press.
