We are waking up to a few showers this morning, mainly north and west of the Wichita area. Most areas will be dry by midday, and partial clearing will allow temperatures to climb into the middle to upper 70s.
The warm-up will continue through the end of the week with high temperatures in the lower 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by lower to middle 80s on Friday. All three days will be breezy to windy at times.
A powerful cold front will sweep across Kansas on Friday night and Saturday, bringing possible rain and thunder, and a significant drop in temperatures.
Temperatures will tumble into the 60s and 70s during the day, and 30s and 40s during the night, but like the last few cool-downs, this one will have a short shelf life.
Author's summary: Warmer temperatures arrive on Wednesday.
