Virtual Cancer Screening Clinic Expands to Vancouver Island
CanScreen, a virtual cancer-screening clinic, has expanded its services to all of Vancouver Island.
Launched in Victoria in 2023 by two doctors, CanScreen aims to provide cancer screening access to patients without a family doctor.
To get screened, individuals can visit www.canscreenbc.com to book a test. The results are then sent to Dr. Stuart Bax, who will contact the patient to discuss the findings.
If further evaluation is needed, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled with a clinician in Port Alberni, Comox, or Nanaimo.
According to Dr. Stuart Bax, the virtual clinic was created to address the challenges of booking screenings without a family doctor.
