On Tuesday, October 14, flights at Kelowna and Victoria airports were delayed due to a cyber security incident.
The incident occurred when public address systems and screens were hacked with pro-Hamas messages at both the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ).
"The YLW team has successfully removed the unauthorized messaging... It has also restored our flight information display screens and are continuing to work on restoring the PA system."
The City of Kelowna stated that the incident was limited to a cloud-based third-party software provider.
