The Access to the Workplace programme at Dublin City University (DCU) has been found to successfully bridge the gap between academic learning and professional employment.
A recent study revealed that 71% of students secured a job in their field of study within 6 months, with many attributing their employment to the exposure gained through the programme.
These key strengths have led to 87% of employers planning to re-engage with the programme for the next academic year.
The study, carried out by Dr Anne Rowan, Dr Aideen Cassidy, and Prof Joe O'Hara, highlights the programme's effectiveness in creating opportunities for underrepresented students and advancing organisational diversity and inclusion objectives.
Since its establishment in 2019, the programme has delivered 483 internships across over 100 partner companies, raising €6.
