Kennesaw State Architecture Students Earn Recognition

A team of Kennesaw State University architecture students has earned international recognition for reimagining an old Italian villa.

Students Gabriela Almeida, Wade Brock, Quincy Smith, and Justin Barkie transformed the ruins into a story of renewal with their project, "When Walls Roam," which won the Community's Choice Award in Terraviva Competitions' Venetian Villa challenge.

The Venetian Villa challenge called on designers to reimagine a centuries-old villa in Italy's Veneto region as a modern hospitality retreat that balanced tradition and innovation.

The team spent their summer turning crumbling walls into works of art, gaining praise from viewers worldwide.
