Mayor's Casting Vote Blocks Rezoning of Environmentally Sensitive Areas
Mayor Jack Boyd used his casting vote to defeat a proposal to rezone five areas near waterways in Sutherland Shire for higher-density housing.
The proposal aimed to rezone residential areas from C3 Environmental Management and C4 Environmental Living to R2 Low Density Residential. The areas in question are close to, but not immediately adjacent to, waterways.
