Isabella High School qualified for regionals in Montgomery by making it to the Class 2A Area 6 Tournament championship.
The team played their first match against Greene County High School, winning 3-0. The sets ended with scores of 25-17 and 25-4.
“There were just a couple of mental mistakes in the second set,” said Isabella head coach Kacie Adams.
Isabella then struggled against Tuscaloosa Academy, the No. 1 seed, who had an automatic bid to the championship match.
“We played a really good game against Greene County, then kind of struggled against Tuscaloosa Academy mentally,” said Adams.
“It’s very rewarding and humbling to be there; we appreciate the opportunity to play (in the area tournament),” said Adams.
