Tasmania have secured a thrilling win over Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield, avenging one of the tightest losses in the competition's history from the previous summer.

After a captivating final morning in Hobart, Tasmania emerged victorious by a mere three runs. Western Australia had narrowed the margin to within seven runs of their target of 259 with two wickets remaining.

Joel Curtis was adjudged lbw on 50 by a Riley Meredith ball that stayed low from around the wicket.

The turning point came when Jackson Bird trapped No.11 Liam Haskett lbw with an in-swinging yorker, ending Western Australia's chase and dismissing them for 255.
