440 Main Restaurant has an extensive history and a permanent tenant. The building has been around for about 30 years and has a past of other businesses, making it one of the oldest in the city.
The building once had a banquet hall where people would come to dance, including a young girl named Mary. According to the story, Mary fell one night while dancing, although it's unclear whether she fell down a balcony or stairs.
Amanda Gilich, General Manager, said: "Mickey, one of the other former owners, has told us stories that she's experienced... As for me, little stories, I think most of the time when I'm closing the restaurant, I'll sometimes like catch a shadow or just a weird feeling."
Staff members, including Gilich, have reported their own experiences with Mary, making her a household name for 440 Main.
