American Distillers Face Challenges in Canada
Exports of spirits to Canada have plummeted 85% earlier this year, according to an industry group, with declines also seen in other markets.
American distillers are struggling with the aftermath of global trade tensions, particularly in Canada, where their products have been largely absent from shelves.
“Even though things have eased up, we still are not back on the shelf in Canada,”said Tom Bard, a Kentucky craft distiller,
“Probably won’t be for a good long while.”
