26th Annual Veterans Stand Down and Benefits Fair
The 2025 Veterans Stand Down event, hosted by the Yakima County Veterans Program, was held at Sundome with a new approach.
According to Program Director Ray Hernandez, this year's event targeted all veterans, unlike previous years which focused on low-income and homeless veterans.
"What we did was we turned it into a benefit fair for all veterans," Hernandez said. "So, we're able to welcome any veteran, any time, any service and any discharge to come in and utilize this time and place to try to seek something that benefits them."
The event saw the largest turnout ever, with numerous programs participating, as noted by Hernandez.
