Man Arrested at Atlanta Airport with AR-15 After Threatening to Shoot
A 49-year-old man, Billy Joe Cagle, was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after threatening to "shoot it up", according to Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum.
Cagle's family informed Cartersville police that he was heading to the airport and had made threats to shoot, prompting a warning to the Atlanta Police Department at around 9:40 a.m.
- Cagle was not armed when he entered the airport.
- An AR-15 assault rifle was found in a pickup truck parked outside the airport.
- Police believe Cagle initially entered the airport to "scope it out".
