A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries
Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping individuals rehabilitate from head injuries. In partnership with Thompsons Solicitors, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery, they aim to support people with brain injuries who are discharged home without wider support.
After spending months in hospital, ICU, and rehabilitation with a team of clinicians, individuals with brain injuries often find themselves alone at home. Many may not fully understand their condition or know how to navigate the legal process for compensation. Headway Devon currently works with around 100 people weekly, but there are many more who are discharged without knowledge of the charity's services.
Thanks to the new partnership, Headway Devon can now provide support to individuals in hospitals, expanding their reach to those who need it most.
