The Coda W: A New Active Loudspeaker from KEF

A new 2-way standmount loudspeaker, the Coda W, has been introduced by KEF. This active model features 100 Watts of amplification within each speaker cabinet, powering a 5.25″ 12th Gen Uni-Q driver array.

The crossover and KEF's Music Integrity Engine distortion reduction are handled in DSP. The "W" in Coda W refers to 'wireless', indicating a Bluetooth input with aptX Adaptive/Lossless support for lossless CD-quality audio transmission, although this is limited to some Android users in uncongested Bluetooth environments.

iPhone users are restricted to AAC 256kbps without a suitable dongle, as the Coda W lacks built-in network streaming, requiring a separate network streamer. The primary loudspeaker's rear panel features a subwoofer output and various inputs, including line-level analogue, phono, HDMI ARC, TOSLINK, and 24-bit/192kHz USB-C, with the latter two allowing connection to external network streamers.
