Taiwanese boyband Energy has apologized after members Kunda Hsieh and Chang Shuwei confessed to forging medical documents to avoid conscription.
The five-member group, comprising Chang Shuwei, Kunda Hsieh, Edy Hsiao, Milk Yeh, and Toro Kuo, had made a successful return in January 2024, winning Song of the Year at the Golden Melody Awards for their comeback hit Friday Night.
However, the group is now embroiled in controversy, with the Taiwanese government investigating an alleged "military evasion ring" involving at least 11 male celebrities suspected of avoiding mandatory conscription through forged medical documents.
No comment from the band or government available.
