According to a FanDuel Canada spokesperson, as of Thursday afternoon, the majority of bets from Ontarians were in favor of the Jays, with FanDuel predicting a 44% chance of victory for the team, compared to the Dodgers' 60% chance.
It's no surprise to see the majority of local fans betting on the home team despite unfavourable odds.
Michael Naraine, an associate professor of sports management at Brock University, comments on the phenomenon, highlighting the loyalty of hometown fans.
