Former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ghana’s former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
“It’s almost like family because I’ve had the opportunity to come to her in a family setting to sit with them and talk with them,”
She described the late Mrs. Rawlings as a woman of strength, faith, and purpose, noting that their relationship went beyond diplomacy.
Mrs. Johnson Sirleaf recalled her admiration for the Rawlings family, particularly for their eldest daughter, whom she described as a promising leader among African women.
“I’m particularly blessed that her daughter, the oldest one, is one of our major women leaders that we look to for the potential of her leadership in the future,”
Offering her condolences, Mrs. Sirleaf prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family.
