Lazarus Chambers, Godby's senior QB, made a stunning comeback in his first start, dropping 4 TDs to lead his team to a come-from-behind victory over Lincoln at Gene Cox Stadium.
Chambers, who had previously started for Godby and was an All-Big Bend performer, reminded everyone of his skills on Friday night. After transferring back from Gadsden County due to FHSAA violation rules, he led the Cougars to a 30-28 win, ending their two-game losing streak and improving to 4-5.
"It felt amazing," Chambers said. "Everybody tried to count me out, but I'm back, and I am never going anywhere for a minute."
Godby's victory sets them up for their next game, while Lincoln prepares to face Rickards in their season finale.
