Colonel Crawford Volleyball's Breakthrough Season Ends

The Colonel Crawford Eagles' volleyball team saw their breakthrough season come to an end in the district final against the top-seed New Bremen Cardinals.

The Eagles lost three seniors but will return their top statistical leaders in nearly every position, leaving the future looking bright.

"In the huddle before we went on that little run, we just talked about the pressure's off," Colonel Crawford coach Jaime Valentine said. "Now just have fun and relax, and that's what they did.

Despite facing match point, the Eagles managed to stave off elimination for a short while, thanks to a five-point run led by freshman Reese Redman's serving, before ultimately falling to New Bremen in a 25-11, 25-11, 25-18 sweep.
