Factional Crisis in Adamawa ADC
A parallel caretaker committee has emerged in the Adamawa State African Democratic Congress (ADC), deepening the factional crisis within the party.
Prominent leaders and members of the ADC in Adamawa State inaugurated the parallel committee on Sunday to lead the party in the state.
This development came barely 24 hours after a different set of leaders inaugurated a steering committee, which was initially perceived as the authentic new leadership of the party in the state.
- The Saturday inauguration was chaired by Babachir Lawal, ADC National Vice Chairman for the North East.
- The Sunday parallel event was supervised by Umar Bello Jada, the party's Assistant National Organising Secretary and North East Zonal Organising Secretary.
This escalation of factionalisation, driven by national officers, marks a significant increase from previous disputes involving less prominent figures.
