A semitruck driver, Jashanpreet Singh, charged in a fatal chain-reaction crash on the 10 Freeway in Ontario, pleaded not guilty in a Rancho Cucamonga courtroom.
Singh obtained his commercial driver's license through state and federal processes in place at the time. However, federal processes changed on September 26, just over a month before the crash.
With an interpreter, Singh pleaded not guilty to multiple counts, including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the combined influence of alcohol and drugs.
He pleaded not guilty to the multiple criminal counts against him.
