Macarthur FC have defeated Adelaide for their first victory of the A-League Men season, despite losing a trio of starting midfielders to illness.
The Bulls were without Anthony Caceres, Chris Ikonomidis and Sime Grzan, who had picked up gastro in Vietnam, where the team drew 1-1 with Cong An Hanoi FC in the ACL Two.
Attacking midfielder Liam Rose opened the scoring against Adelaide in the 11th minute, with Jonny Yull hitting back for the Reds before halftime. However, Ji Dong-Won restored the lead in the 64th minute to fire Macarthur to their first win of the season.
The Bulls rose from the bottom of the A-League Men table with a 2-1 win over Adelaide.
