Incident Report: Noise Complaint Leads to Multiple Charges
A noise complaint on Friday night led to a series of unexpected events for Pikeville city police.
Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Pikeville, identified as Yates, shortly before midnight. He was charged with several offenses, including:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
- First-degree criminal mischief
- Disorderly conduct
- Operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license
- Inadequate muffler
- Reckless driving
- Improper equipment
According to the police report, officers were called to Kentucky Avenue following a noise complaint. Even before getting into their patrol car on Garred Street, they could hear a loud noise that sounded like a motorcycle or car being repeatedly revved up.
