With 2 ballots at stake, here’s how Elections Yukon will conduct the count

Conducting the Count in the 2025 Territorial Elections

In the 2025 territorial elections, Yukon electors will receive two ballots that are clearly distinguishable and separated by perforation.

Ballot Details

One traditional ballot will list the electoral district and candidates in ballot order, determined by a random draw. The number of candidates, ranging from two to four, and their party or independent status will be indicated on the regular ballot.

Plebiscite Ballot

The plebiscite ballot will be the same size as the traditional ballot but have a different design, featuring the plebiscite question, yes or no options, a blue stripe, and clear marking that it's the plebiscite ballot.

Neither of the ballots themselves contain information identifying the voter.

According to Chief Electoral Officer Maxwell Harvey, the two ballots will be separated for electors at the polls to maintain the secrecy of the votes.

Author's summary: Elections Yukon will conduct the count with two ballots.
