Permission is being sought for the redevelopment of the former Iceland store in Newry city centre into a substantial Community Resource Building.
An application was submitted to Newry, Mourne and Down District Council by Mr Liam Devine of The Clanrye Group, a leading Newry-based provider of "high-quality programmes and services designed to empower the local community".
The application seeks full planning permission to redevelop the former Iceland-occupied property at 28 Monaghan Street, directly adjacent to the supermarket's most recently developed premises, into a new Community Resource Building.
