Innovation meets Imagination at Wyndcroft's Tinker Treat
After a morning of classroom fun and the beloved Batwing Ball, an autumn-themed dance, students took to the outdoors for something new: Tinker Treat.
The Wyndcroft School hosted its first-ever Tinker Treat and Trunk-or-Treat celebration, transforming Rosedale Drive into a lively block party that blended STEM, creativity, and community connection.
STEM Exploration
In STEM class, Wyndcroft's Upper School students had been exploring the fundamentals of simple machines — gears, pulleys, levers, and inclined planes — and how they power everyday inventions.
The students were tasked with using those principles to design and build candy-dispensing contraptions that actually worked.
Imaginative Machines
What emerged were imaginative machines that dropped, slid, or launched candy through a series of moving parts, each more inventive than the last.
"I'm so proud of the creativity and problem-solving our students showed throughout this project," said STEM Specialist Shannon Stone.
